Yesterday evening after a day spent cleaning the house and swimming and doing yoga in the sunshine and cooking and eating Pilipino Eggs (eggs over rice with fried garlic and green chilies soaked in vinegar and salt) and napping on the couch, Dennis and I took our bikes out just before dusk and biked down to Central Market and ate gelato outside, lazily reading the Sunday paper while a jazz band played till it started to get dark and then we got back on our bikes and road home, serenaded by a chorus of cicadas.
I am truly, unexpectedly happy to be back in a warm southern clime.
